Recorded for Telarc between 1986 and 1990, Charles Mackerras and the Prague Chamber Orchestra's recordings of Mozart's complete symphonies have always been admired for their style, strength, and sensitivity.Reissued here in 2008 as a 10-disc set, those qualities are still obvious.

For fans of Silver Age Russian music, the series of recordings called The Anthology of Russian Symphony Music is absolutely necessary. Conducted and selected by Evgeny Svetlanov, the recordings in this series included virtually every Russian orchestral work written between Glinka and Rachmaninov worth hearing. Recorded between 1971 and 1993, some of these recordings were intermittently available in the West through licensing agreements, while others were released only in the USSR. In the early years of the twenty-first century, however, Svetlanov's estate began issuing all of them on the international market, thereby deeply gratifying fans of the music in the West.

The 1969 double album Live/Dead holds a special place in the Deadhead universe; indeed, many band members and their inner circle consider it to be the band’s best overall collection as well.
