Whatever She Wants is the story about one woman's determination to rediscover who she really is... Vivian Wolf (Vivica A. Fox) has suffered one heartbreak too many and has no room left for unfulfilling relationships. Now she has come up with the solution to every woman's problem, a private club called "Whatever She Wants" where men have to qualify to get in.

With all its heartbreak, awkward moments and miscommunication, love is simply put, hard. Throw Asperger Syndrome, a high-functioning form of autism that is characterized by an inability to read what other people are thinking and feeling in the mix, and things get elevated to an entirely new level, and that’s exactly what happens when Adam, a shy, socially sheltered, yet extremely bright and enthusiastic man meets his new neighbor Beth (Rose Byrne) a young, aspiring children’s book author who moves in next door.

To be sure, I am a student of literature and a fan of Mark Twain, but I had no idea, none whatsoever (!), of what a rich and inspiring life he lived. He was a comic genius as well as a man devastated by continual heartbreak. I have always known PBS to do a wonderful job with their specials, and I have admired Ken Burns since the day I first discovered his work on the women's movement i.e. the Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton story (highly recommended as well!)... but in their retelling of Mark Twain's life, these two forces have outdone themselves.

Commercialism has put a tremendous amount of pressure on men to give their lovers a romantic day with all the trimmings. Women are under pressure to have a man, or they feel desperate and unloved. Valentines Day follows the lives of several couples during this day. Their stories are told through the interconnections they have with each other. Some will find romance in their relationship, and others will feel the heartbreak of ending a relationship. In this Russian roulette world of finding love, everyone in the film is asking for advice on how to find and keep true love.

Well I have been watiting for this one :) No SCENE release for this show when it was aired on VH1, but now we have the audio CD released by VAG. The Hennegan brothers follow six trainers from varying parts of the country (Arkansas, Florida, New York, Kentucky) on their prime 2005 horses’ journeys through various graded stakes to the Kentucky Derby. Both joy and heartbreak are present in this film, often shown by the same trainers and their families/children, concerning their horses’ stances going into, coming out of, and after the Derby (if they even make it).
